Why awards for bit parts in film are necessary. (It has to do with Jared Leto...)

The reason we created an award for bit parts in film is quite simple:

Because great bit parts in film are to industry awards like Jared Leto to the 2014 Oscars® selfie — deserving, but not there.

Allow me to illustrate.

Behold:

Ellen Degeneres' 2014 Oscars ceremony selfie, with Jared Leto's forehead, left eye and nose barely making it into the picture on the upper far left.

Ellen Degeneres' 2014 Oscars ceremony selfie, with Jared Leto's forehead, left eye and nose barely making it into the picture on the upper far left.

See Jared Leto in there?

If it weren't for the image caption, you might not have even known he was there, right?

Well, the fate of bit parts in film industry awards is even worse than Jared Leto's in the 2014 Oscars selfie.

As in:

Ellen Degeneres' 2014 Oscars ceremony selfie, sans Jared Leto.

Ellen Degeneres' 2014 Oscars ceremony selfie, sans Jared Leto.

And that's why we need awards for bit parts in film:

Because there just couldn't possibly have been an Oscars ceremony, or selfie, in 2014 without Jared Leto.

Ergo, I present to you: The Bitten Slate® Awards.

You're welcome, bit parts.
